NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Primary Election will be held in Asotin County, State of Washington on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
The following contests will appear on the August Primary Election Ballot:

Emergency Medical Services Regular Property Tax Levy
Shall Asotin County Rural Emergency Medical Service District No. 2 be authorized to levy a regular property tax in the sum of 28 cents (or less) per $1,000 assessed valuation each year for six consecutive years beginning in 2027 to be collected for the provision of Emergency Medical Services, all as provide in Asotin County Rural Emergency Medical Service District No. 2, Ordinance No. 152 and the Laws of the State of Washington RCW 84.52.069.

Emergency Medical Services Excess Tax Levy
The City Council of the City of Clarkston, Washington, adopted Resolution No. 2026-07 concerning a proposition to finance emergency medical services. This proposition, if approved, would permit maintenance and operation of Ambulance / Emergency Medical Services through the levy of a special excess tax for collection in 2027 of $1,217,828.00 requiring approximately $1.640 per thousand dollars of assessed value (based on 100% of true and fair value).

Monday, July 27, 2026 is the last day to transfer or update existing voter registration or register to vote by mail or online for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election.
Any address updates can be made in person in the Asotin County Auditor's Office through Election Day.
Those not currently registered, may register in person at the Asotin County Auditor's Office through Election Day.
Ballot Delivery and Return
Beginning July 15, 2026 ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters. Replacement ballots are available by contacting the Asotin County Auditor's Office at (509) 243-2084 ext. 1534. Ballots may be returned by mail or in-person.
Ballots must be postmarked or deposited by 8:00pm Election Day.
Deposit boxes are available in the alley behind City Hall in Clarkston, in the parking lot behind Lincoln Middle School in the Clarkston Heights, in the parking lot of the Asotin County Courthouse, and during business hours at the Asotin County Auditor's Office 135 2nd Street, Asotin. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Fridays.
Voting Assistance
A disability access unit, to assist voters in marking their ballot, is available in the Auditor's office during normal business hours.

The Asotin County Canvassing Board will convene at 2:00pm Monday, August 17, 2026 to determine the status of provisional or challenged ballots and Tuesday, August 18, 2026 the County Canvassing Board will canvass votes cast and certify the election at 10:00am.
