203494 LATAH COUNTY, STATE OF IDAHO LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCY DECLARATION WHEREAS, a number of local counties, including Latah County, are currently experiencing an emergency disaster due to windstorms which started in the early morning hours on December 17, 2025, resulting in dangerous driving conditions, falling debris, property damage, and power and communication outages throughout Latah County; WHEREAS, the windstorms pose an immediate threat to public safety, property, and the continuity of essential services throughout the county; and WHEREAS, the occurrence or imminent threat of the above-described disaster emergencies require State emergency assistance to supplement local efforts to save lives and protect property or to avert or lessen the threat of a disaster; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tom Lamar, the Chair of the Latah County Board of Commissioners, do HEREBY PROCLAIM AND DECLARE a local disaster emergency in Latah County, Idaho, pursuant to Idaho Code 46-1011(1) that a local disaster emergency as defined by Idaho Code 46-1002 exists within Latah County, any and all applicable local or intergovernmental disaster emergency plans are HEREBY activated and the furnishing of aid and assistance thereunder is HEREBY AUTHORIZED. This disaster declaration shall be given prompt and general publicity, shall be filed promptly with the Latah County Recorder, and shall remain in effect for a period of seven (7) days unless extended pursuant to authorization of the Board of County Commissioners in accordance with applicable law.
