NOTICE OF
DETERMINATION OF
NONSIGNIFICANCE (DNS)
The public is notified on Thursday, August 7, 2025, that Whitman County Planning issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC) for the following project with a comment period that ends on Thursday, August 21, 2025:
A culvert replacement across a flood plain at Paradise Creek to access Wheatland RV, 4101 SR 270, Pullman, WA 99163. The project was considered an emergency after a major flooding event in spring of 2025. Erosion control measures are implemented when the creek is low, which is approximately late summer of 2025. The site is in the south half of Section 4, Township 14N., Range 45E., W. M., Whitman County, Washington.
After reviewing a completed environmental checklist and other information on file, the Planning Office has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment.
Copies of the DNS are available at no charge from the Planning Office, Whitman County Public Service Building (2nd Floor), N. 310 Main St., Colfax, WA 99111. Interested people may submit environmentally-focused written comments on the SEPA decision by 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to the County Planning Office, P.O. Box 430, Colfax, WA 99111-0430, (fax) 509-397-6210.
