NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Election will be held in Asotin County, State of Washington on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The following contest will appear on the November General Election Ballot:
Proposed Constitutional Amendment
Senate Joint Resolution No. 8201
The legislature has proposed a constitutional amendment on allowing money in Washington's long-term care fund to be invested. This amendment would allow the state fund dedicated to providing long-term care benefits for eligible seniors and people with disabilities to be invested as authorized by law.

Emergency Communication Sales and Use Tax
A one-tenth of one cent sales and use tax for costs of Emergency Communications in Asotin County
The Asotin County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 25-29 proposing a sales and use tax. This measure will impose a sales and use tax in the amount of one-tenth of one cent; and, provide that all funds generated by the tax will be dedicated 100% to costs to finance, design, acquire, construct, equip, operate, maintain, remodel, repair, reequip, or improve emergency communications systems and facilities for Asotin County. All revenues shall be distributed to Asotin County Emergency Communications.

Asotin County Rural Library District Tax Levy
Proposition No. 1
To provide continued funding for normal maintenance and operations, shall Asotin County Rural Library District return its levy rate to $0.50 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation upon all taxable property within the District in 2025, for collection in 2026, thus increasing its regular property tax levy in excess of the limit factor provided in RCW 84.55.0101, and thereafter using such levy to compute limitations for subsequent years, all as provided in resolution no. 25-01.

Sales & Use Tax for Transportation Improvements
The City of Clarkston Transportation Benefit District adopted Resolution 2025-11 concerning sales and use tax to fund transportation improvements. This proposition would authorize to renew and continue to impose a sales and use tax of two-tenths of one percent (0.002) to be collected from all taxable retail sales and uses within the City in accordance with RCW 82.14.0455 for a term of ten (10) years for the purpose of paying the costs of transportation improvements identified in section 2 of the resolution.

Emergency Medical Services Excess Tax Levy
The City Council of the City of Clarkston, Washington, adopted Resolution No. 2025-12 concerning a proposition to finance emergency medical services. This proposition, if approved, would permit maintenance and operation of Ambulance / Emergency Medical Services through the levy of a special excess tax for collection in 2026 of $1,539,465 requiring approximately $2.645 per thousand dollars of assessed value (based on 100% of true and fair value). Should this proposition be approved?

Monday, October 27, 2025, is the last day to update or register to vote by mail or online for the November 4, 2025, General Election.
Any address updates can be made in person in the Asotin County Auditor's Office through Election Day.
Those not currently registered, may register in person at the Asotin County Auditor's Office through Election Day.
Ballot Delivery and Return
Beginning October 17, 2025, ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters. Replacement ballots are available by contacting the Asotin County Auditor's Office at (509) 243-2084 ext. 1534. Ballots may be returned by mail or in-person.
Ballots must be postmarked or deposited by 8:00pm Election Day.
Deposit boxes are available in the alley behind City Hall in Clarkston, in the parking lot behind Lincoln Middle School in the Clarkston Heights, in the parking lot of the Asotin County Courthouse, and during business hours at the Asotin County Auditor's Office 135 2nd Street, Asotin. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Fridays.
Voting Assistance
A disability access unit, to assist voters in marking their ballot, is available by appointment with the Asotin County Auditor's Office.

The Asotin County Canvassing Board will convene at 2:00pm Monday, November 24, 2025, to determine the status of provisional or challenged ballots and Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the County Canvassing Board will canvass votes cast and certify the election at 10:00am.
