NOTICE OF
DETERMINATION OF
NONSIGNIFICANCE (DNS)
Whitman County Planning issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC) for the following project:
Through 2026-2029, Palouse Conservation District in partnership with Washington State University proposes structural maintenance and beaver dam analogue monitoring along Union Flat Creek in the SE 1/4 of Section 23, Township 15N., Range 43E., W.M., Whitman County, WA.
Copies of the SEPA DNS are available at no charge from the Planning Division located on the second floor of the Public Service Building, 310 N. Main Street, Colfax, WA 99111. The public may submit environmentally-focused written comments to the Planning Division which can be submitted in person, by email to Grace Di Biase at grace.dibiase@whitman
county.gov, or Alan Thomson at alan.thomson@whitman
county.gov, or mailed to: Whitman County Planning Division, P.O. Box 430, Colfax, WA 99111. There is a 14-day comment period for the SEPA DNS which begins Thursday, June 11, 2026, and ends by 5:00 PM Thursday, June 25, 2026.
